Christian County Courthouse

Ozark, MO

DeWitt serviced as the Construction Manager for the new Christian County Courthouse. The project included renovations to the existing justice center and a new facility to house the prosecutor’s office, juvenile office, courtrooms and office space.

The three-story, 36,000 sf structural steel building has a combination of 4 types of masonry and an ACM panel exterior façade with blast proof areas. The building includes three elevators, two stairwells, aluminum storefronts for public access and multiple sally ports. Inmates will be moved securely allowing juvenile populations to be separated from adult populations in different holding cell areas in the basement with family visitation areas on the top floor.

The facility has Division 1 and Division 2 courtrooms, one grand jury, numerous jury assembly rooms and numerous areas with bullet resistant panels to protect key personnel. The building will have security card access to non-public areas, integrated into the camera system, with numerous duress buttons strategically placed in case of security issues and only public entrance is through security check point designed to be monitored multiple places, with additional under floor detection systems. A shipping and receiving area will be next to sally ports and a secured parking area with card access for key personnel to park for safety.
