51,000 square foot clinic featuring primary care, urgent care, autism therapy, family medicine/internal medicine clinic, cardiac rehabilitation services, expanding imaging services, laboratory, oncology, optometry/ophthalmology and conference center space for community use. The existing site required demolition of the Oak Ridge Boys Theater.


Veterans Affairs Gene Taylor Community Outpatient Clinic: Under Construction – Springfield, Missouri

92,000 square feet outpatient clinic that will provide primary care, dental health, radiaology, optometry, sleep lab, prosthetics and pulmonary services.


Mercy Clinic Primary Care Chaffee Crossing – Barling, Arkansas

CoxHealth Center Marshfield – Marshfield, Missouri 

10,400 square foot facility with 18 patient rooms and can accommodate CoxHealth’s growing telemedicine program by offering patients remote diagnosis and consultative services via digital communications.


Mercy Clinic Family Medicine – Ozark, Missouri 

The Mercy Clinic in Ozark, MO is a replacement facility to allow Mercy’s presence in Ozark to expand for family care. The facility will house 22 exam rooms, lab and X-Ray imaging for primary and family care services. The clinic will also feature an Optical Shop with 4 optical exam rooms, a contact lens/eyeglass shop and testing services.


Citizens Memorial Hospital: Kerry & Synda Douglas Medical Center – Bolivar, Missouri

The Citizen’s Memorial Medical Office Building is a 75,000 sq. ft. structural steel building addition to the existing Medical Office Building located on the campus of Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, Missouri. This facility expanded the outpatient services by providing exam rooms, 4 surgical suites, and PET/CT and MRI imaging suites.


Mercy Clinic – Bella Vista, Arkansas

32,951 sq. ft. new primary care clinic including 45 patient exam rooms, a fully integrated pharmacy, CT & X-Ray imaging services, centralized nurse stations, staff office/administration support space, Mercy Mocha Café, and a secluded community room. Phase 2 expansion included conversion of the Urgent Care pod to a hospital-based emergency department and added a helipad.

The original construction for Bella Vista was completed in just under 12 months. The contract was left open in order to re-work a portion of the building from an Urgent Care to the first stand-alone ED in the State of Arkansas. During the gaps between construction, DeWitt worked with Mercy and the designers for the design of the ED conversion. All projects have been under the same contract and have been issued as change orders. The majority of the $187,804 Contractor contingency was returned to the owner and utilized to assist in funding the changes.


Mercy South Patient Tower – Springfield, Missouri

2008 Project Team of the Year

350,000 sq. ft. patient tower addition to St. John’s/Mercy, Springfield. Tower includes new entrance, lobby, meeting rooms, and five floors of patient rooms. The cast in place concrete structure changed the “look” of the hospital with its 80’ tall curtainwall, composite panel penthouse, limestone panel ends, and its dramatic semicircle design.


Golden Valley Medical – Osceola, Missouri 


Mercy Clinic Dallas Street – Fort Smith, Arkansas

The Dallas Street Clinic was the first ground-up, Mercy Branded facility in Mercy’s Central Region. The facility houses primary care, internal medicine and pediatrics. Services include physical exams, children’s health care, sports physicals, in-office immunizations and the capability to perform minor procedures onsite. The clinic also includes an x-ray department and laboratory services.


Freeman Health System Kitchen Renovation – Joplin, Missouri

25,000 sq. ft. renovation of the existing in-use kitchen and food preparation areas for Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO. Construction consisted of multiple phases procured over a one year schedule. Included the construction of a fully functioning temporary kitchen service area to facilitate the complete demolition and reconstruction of the 40 year old facility.


CoxHealth Dialysis Renovation – Springfield, Missouri

Renovation of the Ozarks Dialysis 1st floor: HVAC, plumbing, electrical and fire protection. Construction took place while facility was fully operational. Required installation of 9 dialysis stations and renovation of nurse stations while still in operation. The nurse stations were demoed and completely reset and functional within 2 days. Infection control methods and strategic planning were key while working among patients and staff.


Mercy Clinic Family Medicine Stone’s Corner-Webb City, Missouri

The Stone’s Corner facility, also known as Joplin North, is a two pod primary care clinic with expansion capability. The 27 room clinic contains family practice, urgent care, rotating specialist clinic, blood draw, as well as lab and radiology services. This project included the addition of an offsite roadway improvement project to widen MO State Hwy 43 and provide a turn-lane in the amount of $306,000. Through diligent management of the GMP, DeWitt returned $110,000 in savings at the end of the project.


Mercy Clinic Primary Care Free Ferry – Fort Smith, Arkansas

This 13,650 sq. ft. primary care clinic includes 24 exam rooms with onsite lab and imaging services. Facility includes two entrance and exit points as well as additional space for an expansion on the north side to accommodate four to six more providers.


Mercy Clinic Primary Care Cliff Drive – Fort Smith, Arkansas

The Mercy Cliff Drive Clinic includes a covered canopy area for drop off and pick up, an open waiting area for check-in, wider corridors and larger exam rooms. The Cliff Drive project is a continuation of the Mercy Brand, designed to make the patient experience as easy and comfortable as possible.


CoxHealth Wheeler 5th Floor Renovation – Springfield, Missouri 


Mercy Clinic – Centerton, Arkansas

Mercy Centerton is a 7,351 sq. ft. facility and accommodates 15 Mercy co-workers and four providers, including three family doctors and a family medicine nurse practitioner. In addition to primary care, the facility also offers radiology and laboratory services. Careful consideration was given to the Centerton project to evaluate energy efficiency, with the final systems selected through a comprehensive process to provide a balance of efficiency versus upfront costs to ensure Mercy received the best value for this investment.


Via Christi Women’s Center Expansion – Pittsburg, Kansas

The expansion required full demolition and renovation of the existing 3rd floor of the five story hospital. Inside the Women’s Center, construction included a nursery, LDR’s, and in-patient labor & delivery surgical suites.


CoxHealth Marshfield Ambulance Facility – Marshfield, Missouri

6,000 sq. ft. facility houses four ambulance bays. Building includes a storage room for medicine and equipment, classroom for training, two offices, living area, full kitchen and bedrooms.
